William Magruder Selby was born in 1709 in Prince George's, Maryland. He and Living were married. He died on 28 February 1783 at age ~74.

In the name of God Amen. I, William Magruder Selby of Prince George's Co, in the province of Maryland being in good health and perfect memory blessed be God therefore do this twenty eighth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and seventy three make and publish this my last will and Testament in manner and form following. Now I commend my Soul unto the hands of Almighty God who gave it me and my Body to the Earth from whence it came in hopes of a joyful resurrection thru the merits of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and as for that worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me with I dispose thereof as follows:

First, I give and bequeath to my son William Wilson Selby all that Tract of Land called Grubby Thicket to him and his heirs and assigns forever.

Item: I give all that parcel of Land I had of William Beall to be equally divided between my two sons Samuel Selby and James Wilson Selby to them their heirs and assigns forever.

Item: I give to my son Nathan Selby fifty acres of Chews Folly where he now lives to him and his heirs and assigns forever. Item: I give to my son Joshuway (could be Posinway) Wilson Selby fifty acres of Chews Folly where he now lives to him and his heirs and assigns forever.

Item: I give and bequeath the rest of the land called Chews Folly that belongs to me to be equally divided between my two sons Josiah Wilson Selby and Lingan Wilson Selby to them and their heirs and assings forever.

Item I give and bequath to my wife Martha Selby one Negro Girl during her widowhood.

Item: the first child she hath to my son Samuel Selby and his heirs and the second to my son Nathan Selby and his heirs and the third to my son Joshuway Wilson Selby and at the expiration of the widow's natural life of mywife the wench and the rest of her increase I give and bequeath to my son William Wilson Selby and heirs forever.

Item: I give all the rest of my estate after my just debts are paid and my wife has her thirds to be equally divided between my son Thomas Selby and my four daughters, Martha, Sarah, Elizabeth and Mary and their heirs forever.

Item: I do appoint my loving wife Martha Selby and my son William Wilson Selby full and sole executors of this my last Will and Testament. In testimony whereof I have hereinto set my hand and seal the Day and yer within written and sealed, ackowledged and declared in the presence of the undermentioned being requested by this testator as witnesses:

In the name of God, Amen. I, William Selby of Prince Georges Co, in the province of Maryland, planter, being sick and weak in body but of sound and perfect mind and memory thanks be to Almighty God for the same, do make this my last Will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say, First and principally I commend my soul to Almight God who gave it me and my body I commit to the Earth to be decently interred according to the desiration of my executrix hereafter named. And as concerning my temporal estate with which it has pleased God to bless me with I dispose of the same in manner and form following that is to say:

I give and bequeath to my son William Magruder Selby two hundred acres of land, part of the tract I bought of Mr. Joseph Chew called Chews Folly laying situate and being on the fork of the Eastern branch in Prince George Co. aforesaid to him his heirs and designs. forever.

Item: I give and bequeath the remaining part of the said tract of land called Chews Folly being one hundred and eighty four acres to my daughters Sarah and Susannah Selby to be equally divided between them and in case of either of their decease the survivor to enoy the whole but in case of both of their decease the same to descend to my son William Magruder Selby his heirs and assigns forever. Provided they dye without isse.

Item: I give and bequeath to my son, Samuel Selby, two hundred acres of land part of the tract I now live on called Leith to be laid out at the West part thereof by a line drawn cross the land so as to include the improvements that have been made on that part thereof to him and his heirs forever. But in case of his decease without issue the same ot be equaly divided between my sons Joseph, Thomas and John Selby and to remain to them and their heirs forever and in case of either of their decease the land to be divided between the survivors.

Item: I give and bequeth to my son Joseph Selby one hundred acres of land part of the aforesaid tract of land called Leith to be laid out between the upper and lower parts thereof by a line drawn cross the land to him and hie heirs forever. But in case of his decease without issue th same to be equally divided between my sons Thomas and John Selby to them and their heirs forever.

Item: I give and bequeath to my son John Selby two hundred acres of land the remaining part of the tract called Leith lying next Patuxant River being that part whereon I now dwell to him and his heirs forever he permitting his mother my dear and loving wife Elizabeth Selby peaceablye and quietly to possess and enjoy the same during her natural life with the improvements thereon provided there be no waste and distruvyion (sic) by her or an order made of any part thereof but in case of his decease without issue the same to be divided between my sons Joseph and Thomas Selby to them and their heirs forever, they permitting their mother the liberty aforementioned.

Item: I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Selby all that tract or parcel of land called Ossax (sic) Lodge adjoining to the land I now live on and containing one hundred and fifty acres to him and his heirs forever. But in case of his decease without issue the same to be equally divided between my sons Joseph and John Selby and to remain to them their heirs and assigns forever.

Item: I give and bequeath to my son Nathan Selby all that tract of land called Toogood lying inthe West side of Patuxant River in the woods the same which I formerly bought of my brother Samuel Selby to him the said Nathan his heirs and assigns forever.

Item: I give and bequeath to my son Samuel Selby one feather bed and furniture and one iron pott to be deliverd to him when my executor shall be requested thereto.

Item: I appoint my loving wife Elizabeth Selby full and sole executric of this my last will and testament.

Lastly I appoint my friends ... Magruder and Thomas Hodgkin trustees to see this my last will and testament executed according to the tenor and effect thereof desiring of them to suffer no waste to my children or dividend of my estate but on the contrary to take them and the same unto their possession for the benefit of my said children in testimony of every part hereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this eighteenth day of October within the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and thirty two hereby revoking disannulling and making void all former and other wills and bequeasts by me heretofore made and acknowledging this and none other to be my last will and testament.

In the name of God, Amen. I William Selby of Prince Georges County in the Province of Maryland, Planter, being weake in Body but of Sound and perfect mind and memory praise be therefore given to Almighty God doe make and ordaine this my present last Will and Testament the manner and form following (that is to say) first and pricipally I commend my Soul into the hands of Almighty God hopeing through the Meritts Death and Passion of my Savyour Jesias Christ to have fully and freely pardon and forgiveness of all my Sins and to inherit Everlasting life and my Body I Commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the descretion of my Executrix hereafter named and as for the desposition of all such temporale Estate as it hath pleased God to bestow upon me I give and will thereof as followeth: Imprimius: my Will is that all the Debts that I doe Justly owe to any Persons whatsoever of my funeral charges be paid and satisfied without any suite or ... Law if possible by my Executrix hereafter named;

Secondly I give and Bequeath to my Sonn in Law Robert Sallers and to Mary his Wife, my loving Daughter two hundred acres of Land lying next Samuell Magruder in the Western Branch, one hundred of the said two Hundred Acres of Land called Good Luck the other Hundred acres of the said two Hundred Acres of Land called Park Meadow to them the said Robert and Mary his Wife and to their Heirs forever.

Thirdly I give Bequeath to my two loving sonns William Selby and Charles Selby all them two tracts of Land hereafter named (that is to say all that track of Land whereon I now dwell Called Leith containing five Hundred and fifty acres and all that parcell of Land which I lately bought of Richard Groomes containing one hundred and Fifty Acres being part of a track of Land called Groomes Lodge and adjoining upon the aforesaid called Leith to be devided between them as followeth (that is to say), three Hundred and fifty Acres of Land part of thee said two tracts of Land Adjoining to the plantation whereon I now dwell being the Lowermost Part of the aforesaid Land to be devided by a straight Line from the River running backwards in the Woods to the End of the said Land to my loving Sonn William and to his heirs forever. the other three Hundred Acres of Land being the uppermost part up Patuxant River of the aforesaid Lands to my Loveing Sonn Charles and to his heirs forever.

Fourthly I given and Bequeath to my Loving Daughter Susannah Selby one Hundred and fifty Acres of Land part of a trackt of Land called Towgood lying backwards in the Woods containing three hundred and fifty acres the said one hundred and fifty Ares of Land to be laid out in the back part of the said Land on the other side of a branch to her the said Susannah Selby and her heirs forever.

Fifthly I give and Bequeath unto my Son Samuel Selby all the remaining part of the said Land unto him the said Samuel Selby and to his heirs forever.

Sixthly I give and Bequeath to my Daughter Amee Hacker all that track of Land called Twyford containing one hundred Acres excepting only one halfe of the orchard upon the said Land the which my Loving Wife Mary Selby shall have the benefit of during her life to the said Amee Hacker and the Heirs of her Body for ever.

Seventhly I give and Bequeath to my loving Wife, Mary Selby, one hundred Acres of Land called the Farme being part of a tract of Land called the farme to the said Mary Selby and her heirs for Ever.

Eightyly I give and bequeath to my Daughter Susannah Selby one good feather Bed and furniture and one large Copper Kettle out of my household goods and tenn head of Cattle out of my Stock of Cattle to be chosen for her by her Mother the said Bed and furniture Kettle and cattle to be delivered to her the said Susannah by my Executrix hereafter named att Sixteen years of age or day of Marryage which shall first happen.

Ninthly I give and Bequeath to my son William one feather bed and furniture out of my household goods and tenn head of Cattle out of my Stock of Cattle to be chosen for him by his mother to said Bed furniture and cattle to be delivered to hm the said WIlliam Selby by my Executrix hereafter named when the said WIlliam shall arrive to the age of Eighteen years.

Tenthly I give and Bequeath to my Sonn Charles ten Head of Cattle to be chosen by his Mother of my tock of Cattle and to be delivered to him the said Charles by my Exectrix hereafter named when he shal arrive to the age of Eighteen years.

Eleventhly I give and bequeath to my Sonn Samuell one large Iron pot out of my household goods and tenn head of Cattle to be chosen by his Mother out of my Stock of Cattle and to be deliverd to him by my Executrix hereafter named when he shall arrive to the age of Eighteen years.

Twelfthly I give and bequeath unto my loving Wife all the plantation I now dwell on with sufficient Land thereunto adjoining with all houses and edifices thereunto belonging to the use of her during her natural LIfe and in case my said Wife should Live until my Sonn William shall arrive to the age of Eighteen years that then if my said Sonn should a mind to seate for himself that he may have priveledge to seate backwards on his said Land ...his Mother and that after my Wife's Death the said plantation and edifices whereon I now dwell ... to him my Sonn William Selby and his heirs for ever.
