James E. O'Connor was born in January 1885 in Meriden, Connecticut. He and Katherine L. Grady were married on 29 June 1911 in Spencer, Massachusetts. He died on 11 January 1957 at age ~72 in Spencer, Massachusetts.¹ He was buried on 14 January 1957 at Saint Mary's in Spencer, Massachusetts.

James was employed by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for 40 years. He started as an agent in Spencer and in 1926 he became company manager in Clinton for two years. Later he was manager in Taunton, MA for 25 years. While in
Taunton, he lived at 166 Winthrop St. James retired in July of 1949. He returned to Spencer sometime after his wife's death in February of 1950.

When he died in 1959, his brothers Martin and Frank and his sister Julia were still alive. His wife, Catherine, died in 1950. His daughters were all deceased. Catherine died in 1951, Alice in 1914, and evidently Esther also preceded
him.

James is listed on the 1900 Census with his parents and brothers and sisters. According to the obituary, James along with his parents, brothers and sisters, moved to Spencer in 1888 when James was three years old.

Julia D. O'Connor was born on 10 December 1887 in Meriden, Connecticut. She died on 2 August 1967 at age 79 in Spencer, Massachusetts.¹ She was buried on 5 August 1967 at Saint Mary's in Spencer, Massachusetts.
