Peter M. Reeves was born on 19 October 1810 in Madison, Kentucky. He and Sarah Hudnall were married on 8 October 1831 in Warren, Kentucky. He died on 4 April 1882 at age 71 in Warren, Kentucky.

Last Will and Testament of Peter M. Reeves

I, P. M. Reeves of the County of Warren and State of Kentucky on this the 29th day of February 1882 In view of the uncertainty of life, and being feeble in health of body (though sound in mind,) hereby make and publish this to be my last will and testament, revoking all other wills heretofore made by me.
First, it is my will that after my death all my just debts be paid with funeral expenses included.
Second, I will and bequeath to Sarah A. Reeves (my wife) my entire estate real and personal, To have hold own and use as she may choose or think best during her life time.
Third-It is my will that after the death of my said wife all the land we now own and all the personal property, then remaining be sold and the money distributed as may then be legally required to pay off an execution against myself as security and M.P. Scott Principal-in favor of the heirs of Mark Phelps be used for that purpose.
Then fourthly It is my will that all the money then of my estate remaining on hand be equally divided between our five children or their heirs (namely) The heirs of Elizabeth Phelps, Polly Ann Phelps, James C. Reeves, George C. Reeves, Nevilda (sic Zerilda) P. Scott.
Fifth It is my will that Sarah A. Reeves my wife and James A. Reeves (my son) execute this my last will and testament. And I hereby request and pray the court of my said county and state to require no security on the bond to be given by those whom I have herein appointed to execute this my last will.

I Ben F. Gardner, Clerk of the Warren County Court do certify that the foregoing instrument of writing was produced in open court on the 22nd day of May 1882 and proved by the oaths of J.W. Otey and W. T. Hazle two of the subscribing witnesses thereto to be the last will and testament of P.M. Reeves Decd and also proved the attestation of Edward E. Higganbotham the other subscribing witness. Whereupon I have recorded same with this certificate in my office.

Mary M. ("Polly") Reeves was born on 12 February 1812 in Madison, Kentucky. Dudley D. Turner and she were married on 6 April 1829 in Warren, Kentucky. She died on 2 September 1836 at age 24 in Warren, Kentucky. She was buried in Old Zion General Baptist Cemetery.

William Harrison Reeves was born on 26 November 1814 in Richmond, Madison, Kentucky. He and Penelope B. White were married in 1843 in Ballard, Kentucky. He and Living were married in 1881. He died on 4 March 1884 at age 69 in McCracken, Kentucky.

Nancy Reeves was born about 1815 in Warren, Kentucky. James Alderson and she were married on 30 January 1845 in Warren, Kentucky. She died before 1870 in Kentucky.

Sidney Preston ("Press") Reeves was born on 19 August 1817 in Warren, Kentucky. He and Perlina Hall were married on 24 January 1839 in Clinton, Hickman, Kentucky. He died on 28 September 1882 at age 65 in Ballard, Kentucky.

I, Sidney Preston Reeves of Ballard County, Kentucky do make and ordain this my last will & Testament hereby revoking all others made by me. 1st I desire that after my death my body be buried in a Christian like manner. 2nd I desire that all my just debts be paid. 3rd I give to my beloved wife Pollina Ann Reeves my farm & homestead on which we now reside containing one hundred & twenty five acres of land to be laid off the North end of my tract of land including the improvements during her natural life. 4th provided my youngest son David Walter Reeves lives with me during my natural life then at my death I give to him all of my personal property after my just debts all paid provided further that if I should die before my wife Pollina Ann Reeves if my son David Walter Reeves lives with and takes care of his mother Pollina Ann Reeves during her natural life then at her death in addition to the personal property heretofore given him I give him the said David Walter Reeves the homestead containing one hundred & twenty five acres of land heretofore devised to my wife Pollina Ann Reeves during her natural life. 5th I give to my son Sidney Preston Reeves one hundred & twenty five acres of land to be laid off on the South end of the tract of land on which I now reside. 6th I give to Daughter Elizabeth Cherry formerly Reeves one horse in addition to the cow & calf heretofore given her. 7th I give to my son Charles Curtice Reeves Seventy five acres of land lying West of my homestead it being the same that I have heretofore conveyed to him by Deed. 8th I give to my Daughter Lurania Hawes formerly Reeves One Sorrel mare one cow & calf the Same I delivered her the possession was shortly after her intermarriage with John Hawes her husband. 9th I give to my Daughter Louisa Cull formerly Reeves in addition to the forty acres of land on which she now resides ten acres of land joining her land on the South making it all fifty acres. 10th I give to my son William Jerome Reeves one hundred acres of land it being the same that I have heretofore conveyed to him by Deed. 11th I give to my son George Adam Reeves one hundred acres of land it being the same that I have heretofore conveyed to him by Deed. Written in my presents, read to me in the presence of the Subscribing witnesses and signed by me this November 30th 1881.
